Reviewing proposals for Yellowstone Business Partnership, Cody, WY Some examples of Ms. Beck's strategic planning experience include: Red Lodge Capital Investment Plan: Ms. Beck served on a team to develop a CIP for the City of Red Lodge. Barb assisted in designing the process, facilitated public meetings, interviewed city staff, and assisted with preparation of the plan to guide capital investment decisions by the city. Public Health Planning: Retained by Yellowstone County, Montana, Public Health Department to prepare the plans for rapid distribution of materials from the Strategic National Stockpile in the event of a public health emergency. Charles M. Russell (CMR) National Wildlife Refuge: Ms. Beck assisted in developing the agenda, and then facilitated a strategic planning meeting for the staff from the CMR Refuge. Chamber of Commerce: Ms. Beck has been retained on two occasions to facilitate the strategic planning retreats of the local chamber of commerce. Beck developed the agenda, facilitated the retreats, and documented the goals and action items. Project Archaeology: Beck Consulting was hired to design and facilitate a strategic planning session for Project Archaeology. Project Archaeology seeks to help people appreciate their heritage and learn lessons from archaeology that apply to today. Bureau of Reclamation: Beck Consulting was retained to facilitate two planning retreats for the Montana Area Office. The retreats were a combination of goal setting and training for the state's leadership team. Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness Foundation: Facilitated a board retreat to orient four new board members, address board governance, and develop a three-year strategic plan. Missouri River Conservation Districts Council: Facilitated a strategic planning session to assist the Council in clarifying short-term goals during the transition period for a new executive director. Red Lodge Area Community Foundation: Ms. Beck was retained to develop the agenda and facilitate a strategic planning retreat for the board of the RLACF. The board was facing critical short-term decisions needed to ensure alignment with the foundation's mission and long-term relevancy and solvency. All identified outcomes for the retreat were met. Yellowstone Business Partnership: Ms. Beck developed the outcomes and agenda, and facilitated a strategic planning session for the board and staff of the Yellowstone Business Partnership. Assumptions on which earlier planning was based changed significantly with the economic situation and the board had an urgent need to make a course correction. The session was successful in that the short-term issues necessary to ensure long-term sustainability were addressed. America's Byways Resource Center (ABRC): Ms. Beck was retained to develop an agenda and facilitate a meeting between the ABRC, the board of the National Scenic Byways Foundation and the Federal Highway Administration. The focus of the meeting was to understand the various roles, goals, and constraints of the three entities, the funding situation, and establish a course of action for the Byways Council consistent with this understanding.
