Emergency Operations and Hazard Mitigation Planning

Beck Consulting has provided a range of emergency planning services in western states. Ms. Beck has completed specialized training offered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency in hazard mitigation. The firm has been retained to produce original plans and then re-hired years later to update existing plans when those updates are necessary. Ms. Beck is trained in soft target assessment and law enforcement.

Some examples of Ms. Beck's experience in emergency planning include:

Hazard Mitigation Planning: Ms. Beck has been retained to research, conduct public involvement, develop goals and mitigation actions, and write multi-jurisdictional city-county plans. All plans have met FEMA requirements and been adopted by the affected jurisdictions.

Emergency Operations Planning: Beck Consulting has prepared county emergency operations plans and plan updates. This has included developing table top scenarios for discussion by the Local Emergency Planning Committees (LEPC.) LEPCs are composed of law, fire, emergency medical, elected officials, disaster and emergency services, hospital, and other representatives. Meeting current requirements has involved addressing mass casualties and fatalities, special needs populations, evacuation, and planning for the continuity of government in the case of disasters and emergencies.

Community Wildfire Protection Planning: Ms. Beck has prepared county wildfire protection plans. This required identification of areas at risk, values at risk, fire fighting resources, and developing goals and projects to address identified needs.
